The HSL-2
light source is a state-of-the-art Halogen Spectral Lamp with an integrated shutter and a
standard FSMA-coupler to connect optical fiber light guides. This spectral lamp
distinguishes itself from all others because of its easy usage and very low optical output
fluctuations over its spectral range of emission. The integrated shutter allows to darken
the light output, e.g. to perform a dark current measurement or protect a photosensitive
sample by illumination. The shutter can be opened and closed manually or controlled by an
external TTL signal from a TranSpec spectrometer.
This picture shows the relative emission of the HSL-2 at 630 nm over a total
measurement
period of 8 hours. Note the highly constant radiation signal level !
This zoomed part of the picture above shows the emission fluctuations over a period of 100
minutes. Note that the optical ripple is less than 0.05% peak-to-peak !
